Overview

A round trip from Marrakech with a whole extra day to slow down and truly live the Sahara. Where the 3-day tour rushes the dunes, this one lingers — a full day to explore Erg Chebbi, meet nomad families, hear Gnawa music in Khamlia and simply watch the light change.

You'll still get the greatest hits — Aït Ben Haddou, Todra Gorge and the kasbah valleys — but with the breathing room that turns a trip into a memory.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

1
Day 01 · ~320 km

Marrakech · Aït Ben Haddou · Dades Valley

Over the Tizi n'Tichka pass to the UNESCO kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, then through Ouarzazate and the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs to the rose-red Dades Valley.

Overnight: kasbah hotel · Dinner & breakfast

2
Day 02 · ~230 km

Todra Gorge · Camel Trek · Erg Chebbi Camp

A walk in Todra Gorge, then east to Merzouga. A sunset camel trek carries you over the dunes to a luxury desert camp for a Berber feast, music and stargazing.

Overnight: luxury Sahara camp · Dinner & breakfast

3
Day 03 · in & around Merzouga

A Full Day in the Dunes

No long drive today. After sunrise, a 4×4 tour of the erg — nomad families, the black desert, the Gnawa musicians of Khamlia and fossil beds — plus time to sandboard or simply rest. A second night under the stars.

Overnight: desert camp or dune auberge · Dinner & breakfast

4
Day 04 · ~560 km

Sahara Sunrise · Return to Marrakech

One last sunrise and camel ride, then the scenic drive back over the Atlas, reaching Marrakech in the evening.

Breakfast · Ends at your Marrakech accommodation

Good to Know

How is this different from the 3-day tour?

The extra day is spent entirely in and around Merzouga — a 4×4 desert excursion, Khamlia music, nomad visits and a second desert night — instead of driving straight back.

Can I sandboard or quad-bike?

Yes — sandboards are usually available at the camp, and quad-biking or a longer camel trek can be added on request.

Where is the second desert night?

Either a second night at the dune camp or a comfortable auberge on the edge of the erg — your choice, and easy to upgrade.
